Please join us for Trusight's 7th annual Benefits Conference, "The Power of Knowledge."  The conference will focus on benefit plan cost and design considerations, trends, fads, and the future direction of pension, health/welfare and other employee benefits.

Keynote Speakers

  • A keynote panel of Timothy D.S. Goodman, Partner, Dorsey & Whitney, LLP, Debra Linder, Shareholder, Fredrikson & Byron and Billie Zippel, Associate General Counsel, Medica Health Plans, will discuss the United States Supreme Court decision on the constitutionality of healthcare reform and what It means for employers. For all attendees.
  • A keynote panel of Joseph McErlane CEO, Neopath Health, and Jay Haugen, Superintendent, Independent School District 192, Keith Lester, Superintendent, Independent School District 286 and David Lindberg, Human Resources Director, Independent School District 15, will discuss the onsite clinics that the school districts are offering to their employees, how they have changed the delivery of care to employees and how they have helped save health plan costs. For all attendees.
  • Cassie Weness, L.D., R.D. will present a lunch keynote on nutritional stress buster foods. For all attendees.
  • George Gmach, Director, Compensation and Benefits, Trusight, will present a closing keynote on the results of Trusight’s 2012 benefits survey. For all attendees.

Breakout sessions

You spoke, we listened. This year’s Benefits Conference will have more breakout sessions, and sessions on three informational tracks: Introductory/basic, Intermediate and Advanced. Attendees may attend any session they wish, but the content will be based on the track level:

  • Kathryn Helmke, SPHR, Senior Benefits Consultant, Trusight, will present a session with INTRODUCTORY information on employee benefits.
  • Kathy Jacoby, Vice President Marketing, MetLife, will present a session with INTERMEDIATE information on MetLife’s 10th Annual Study of Employee Benefits Trends: Seeing Opportunity in Shifting Times.
  • Mary Komornicka, CEBS, Attorney, Larkin Hoffman Daly & Lindgren Ltd, will present a session with INTERMEDIATE information on employee benefit vendor selection and management.
  • Nancy Nelson, Vice President & Chief Actuary, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, will present a session with ADVANCED information on the factors that drive health care costs and what health plans are doing to control them.
  • Mark Randall, GoldenCare USA, will present a session with INTERMEDIATE information on the future of long-term care insurance following the cessation of regulatory work on the Community Living Assistance Services and Supports (CLASS) Act.
  • Bryan Simmons, AIFA®, CRPS, Retirement Services Consultant, David Martin Agency, Inc., will present a session with ADVANCED information on 401(k) and 403 (b) fee disclosure.
  • Stacy Vavoulis, Human Resources Consultant, Trusight, will present a session with INTRODUCTORY information on the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
