Heard It On The Hotline: Assuring Employment Law Posters Are Current

Featuring frequently asked questions from Trusight’s Research Hotline.
Question:
How can I assure our business’ employment law posters are current?
Answer:
There are several ways to assure your business has the most recent employment law posters.
- If you have recently ordered a discounted “all-in-one” employment law poster on Trusight’s website through our business partner GovDocs, and you have a smart phone, you can instantly determine poster compliance. Recently GovDocs included a Quick-Response (QR) code on their labor law posters that you can scan from your smart phone to determine poster compliance. The QR code reader on your smart phone instantly displays a “compliant” or “non-compliant” message. Compliance Check is a free service for GovDoc posters. You can choose a QR code reader that works with your phone model. Some popular free apps are listed on the GovDoc’s website.
- If you do not have a GovDocs poster with the Quick Response code, you can contact the Trusight Research Hotline staff to get information about specific state or federal poster revision dates.
- Members also have access to employment law information on our website by accessing CCH HR AnswersNow. This resource provides federal and state poster information.
Go to www.trusightinc.com; log in as a member; select CCH HR AnswersNow; select “State Laws”; check the state of interest; enter key search word “poster”. CCH will provide you the posters required for the state selected, and on each specific poster will be the most recent revision date.
As a reminder, Trusight has a free e-mail notification service to keep all our member companies informed of changing Minnesota and Federal mandatory labor laws. If you would like to be notified when other states have new posting obligations, simply e-mail memberupdates@trusightinc.com and let us know the names of those other states. Once notified about a state or federal change, member companies can order the new poster through our website www.trusightinc.com, and clicking on the GovDoc’s link.
Keeping current with state and federal posting obligations can be challenging, but Trusight has resources and tools to provide the information you need.
